Flaujac – Figeac 12-13/09/13

Hello again!

We can’t believe how incredible this area is… The region of Lot and the valley of Cele are just amazing. The sharp canyons (a paradise for climbing, kayaking and all outdoor-activity lovers) and the old houses built on them are just taken from a fantasy tale. Saint Cirq La Popille was voted the most beautiful town in France in 2012!!

Every 5 Km we wanted to stop and stay there! We are still looking for our little yoga-chillout place to stay. What do you think of this one? 😉

We even found a vegan-friendly restaurant at Cabrerets, run by an English couple, very lovely people, who are vegetarians and have spent 10 years in this region, finding it very difficult even to have vegetarian dishes, so they decided to open their own “Jardin de Cabrerets”. Highly recommendable!!!

Bea even had Vegan crepes with homemade Nutella!!and as a surprise, they prepared for us a little picnic for the next day on the road. Soooo nice and delicious!

We are on the Chemin de St Jacques, towards Le Puy en Vellais right now and should be there in about 8 days. Today (14/09/13… HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SYLVIE) we shoud stop in Conques… if we don’t get distracted by anything as it has always happens!

We are missing A LOT of postings from the start of our French periple and all the amazing people we have found but do not think we have forgotten you. Just give us a liiiiitle bit more time!!

Big kisses,
Bea and Jose on the road

  1. Hallo Bea and Jose, I met you both at the supermarket in Espalion and you shared chips with me as we chatted. You gave me the Jardin de Cabrerets card and I ended up not only eating there but staying there too. To my surprise I also met Graham and Martin, the Canadian and German cyclists you had also met too and they ended up staying and eating there too. You guys should get a discount next time you go there. It was a fabulous meal and english speaking evening as we were the only ones staying there. Thank you for your recommendation. Deja Vu for me! It was another ‘meant to be’ opportunity. I then met up with Graham and Martin a few days later in St John Pied de Port so had a wonderful reunion. Good to see you arrived home safely. I made it to Burgos in Spain before it was time to train to Madrid and head home to Australia. My trip is made up of special memories of those I met, including you guys. Thanks. Sue from Tasmania.
