Basel-Zurich in a day?

So, the answer to the question everybody was waiting for:
YES, we did it!
After 138 km and 12 hours, we found our friends place!
We left Basel late (around 9am) but we got a good speed and the weather was not as bad as forecasted. The valley roads were very good and the bike signs in Switzerland are VERY good.
We had planned to make it in 8 hours with 15 km average speed and we did it like that. But then we realised we were on the other side of the city and we needed an extra hour to cross Zurich!
We will stay here a couple of days more to fix our stuff before heading towards the big mountains and to celebrate Leti’s birthday.
Big hugs to everyone and talk to you soon!!
Bea and Jose

  1. BUENO HIJOS, YA HEMOS VISTO VUESTRAS CARAS, (Y BARBA), POR LO MENOS MAMÁ SE QUEDA ALGO TRANQUILA.- ESPEREMOS QUE TODO SALGA BIEN, SOIS JOVENES Y PODEIS. LO DE HACER 139 KM, EN UN DIA NOS PARECE MUY FUERTE Y SUPONEMOS QUE TENDREIS LAS PIERNAS COMO COLUMNAS MACIZAS.- UN ABRAZO PARA BEA Y PARA TI.- PAPIS

    • Hi Lisa!! Sorry but did not have a chance to text. We defenitely did not whatsup you… the communications have been an issue ever since we left Spain.
We do actually have a French phone number but being in Switzerland it charges roaming all the time. I don’t know how you managed to stay in touch through all the countries… it is something we still have to learn. Anyway, our number is +33686066190
Tomorrow we will reach Austria and we will have Bea’s phone. It is +436503385131
Today we sleep in Salgans, a small village in the middle of nowhere. We are soaking wet and have to remain in the cheapest b&b we could find. Still we have to pay 80 CHF. Prices are slightly different than in Spain!
We hope you guys are still having a great time and if there is still a chance to meet, please let us know. Tomorrow we should reach Feldkirch and sleep in Bürs! Big hugs, J+B
